Tuesday, August 7th, 2007

We've just launched yet another website for models – it's 2-models.com. It's a professional model career planning site that offers composite cards, also known as zeds or index cards. Composite cards are an essential component for every model, as they are a must-have for every self-respecting and professional modeling industry professional.

In short, a composite card is a model’s headshot with her name and basic stats, such as height, bust, waist, hips, shoes, hair and eyes, typed on the photo and the back. Your standard index card has a series of photos featuring the model in different photographic styles. More often than not, having a composite card might be your only way to get a job in the industry. That's why we've decided to help models by producing high-quality, professional index cards that you may find at http://www.2-models.com.

You can print composites directly from web, or order high quality composite cards. we wish good luck for every model ;)

D-Max Models – slanders Fashion TV and Lithuanian model agencies

Sunday, July 1st, 2007

D-Max models – Lithuanian model agency is the agency you need to think before starting to work with. They lost Defamatory case to model agency "Supermodels" and still writes articles which can harm reputation of agencies.
Now they wrote new article in their site exonline.lt. Article tells that participation in FTV (reputable TV channel – Fashion TV) events is BAD THING, and only one agency ("Supermodels" they treat this agency as bad one) agreed to participate in Fashion TV cruise where they organise miss FTV contest.
We translate this article to English language and sent it to Fashion TV headquarters. What they will do with them we are not sure, but as International event manager for FTV said – they will never work with such company in any way anymore.
Article misleads readers, because not only one agency works with FTV. Only The best agencies in Lithuania sends the girls to participate in Miss FTV event and it seems DMAX is not one of them. Girls from modeling agency "Modilinos" and "Supermodels" now participate in the contest.
Soon everybody will be able to see the girls from Supermodels and Modilinos on Fashion TV.
Think before choosing the right agency to work with.

Lithuanian Modeling Agency “D-MAX Models” Caught Breaking Law

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

Press release

Kaunas, Lithuania, June 21st, 2007: modeling agency "DMAX Models" uses scare tactics and unlawful competition methods to discourage Lithuanian models from working for other agencies, particularly modeling agency "Supermodels".

"D-MAX" tried to illegally discredit the competition by publishing a fraudulent article “Nori bÅ«ti modeliu? Apsaugok save” (Want To Be a Model? Protect Yourself), in which a model and dancer casting advertisement by modeling agency "Supermodels" is shown as an example of illegal and shady marketing by a 21st century scam slavery ring. The article warns young people, who wish to pursue a modeling career, to avoid such agencies as "Supermodels", which is portrayed as a scam agency.

Modeling and casting agency "Supermodels" has been established in 2001 in Kaunas. The agency, together with its partners in the USA, has its own models network and enjoys good relations with some of the world's most reputable modeling agencies in Milan, Tokyo, Barcelona, London, Athens and Paris. Agency's models successfully work in Lithuania as well as in foreign modeling industries.

The owner of Supermodels Ugnius Kiguolis addressed Vilnius City Court with a libel case against "D-MAX Models". During the process of the civic case 2-6416-171/2007 m., it was determined that "D-MAX Models" published a fraudulent article containing unfounded and false claims about "Supermodels", and must remove it from their website and cover court’s expenses immediately after the verdict. The verdict is unappealable.

However, "DMAX Models" has not reacted to the libel case in any way and has not removed the article from their website, even in face of a trial verdict. Such disrespect of Lithuanian legal system leads to assume that "DMAX Models" does not abide Lithuanian law, and that it may in fact be a scam agency itself.

More cases of civil action against DMAX Models for spreading unfounded and false information about Lithuanian modeling agencies are soon to follow.

Lithuanian modeling agencies

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007

Here are Lithuanian model agencies listed by credibility (based on experience in the market and my personal opinion). I think there are too many agencies in such a small country as Lithuania and we still see new modeling agencies trying to enter the market. So here is the list of the Lithuanian modeling agencies with short comments from me:

1. Modilinos model agency – this one's got the longest history of all modeling agencies in Lithuania. I respect Jolanta, the owner of the agency very much. The agency employs a lot of great models working all around the world. We had some issues with Jolanta in the past, as my agency name "Supermodels Model Management" is quite similar to "Supermodels of the World" – the contest that she's been organising for a long time.

2. Major Image Group – This experienced agency belongs to 3 well known Lithuanian models: Renata, Meda and Julija. Agency has its own style and requrements. Good choice for an s girl.

3. Baltic Model Management – experienced modeling agency in Lithuania. One could say it was a bit stronger in the past, when the top face and co-owner was Carmen Kass. Now they and Massimo lead separate agencies, but this agency is still strong and very good.

4. Supermodels Model Management – I see my agency in this place. Of course, it’s just my personal opinion, but when we started our agency here in Lithuania there were only those three agencies above were the only ones. It was a long time ago and we found lots of models since then. The main difference between us and the agencies listed above is that we not only manage models, we also offer common people for Lithuanian market. Furthermore, we have another agency named "Beyou" that manages go-go dancers. So we have a bit more to offer than just High Fashion.

5. Metropolitan Modeling agency – it’s a good agency for models. Their first option is Metropolitan Paris, but they also work with a lot of agencies worldwide.

6. Europe Centre Models – this agency opened a year later than we did. There have been rumours that this agency asks money upfront, and there also was some TV broadcast on the credibility of the agency. But I still have positive opinion about this agency, they have some good models and international scouts visit them often.

7. Image Models – I haven’t got much information about them. This agency is quite new, but they have many businesses in the same network already, including one magazine. At least scouts who visit us, don't visit this agency.. maybe we just have different clients.

8. Mis Mazoji agency – it’s an agency for kids. This agency mostly focuses on local market. They have got their own modeling studio. From what I’ve heard, they don't send models abroad.

9. Modeliai agency -it’s not quite a full time service. It’s an online service for models.

10. DM agency – this agency is now closed as its owners were arrested. They are suspected to have been employing and sending models as a high class prostitutes.

11. Dmax agency – I put this agency low on the list for the way they do business. They have a few models, one of which has done very well in the season of 2007, but let me shed some light upon some inside information. Some history: agency owner Xavier was caught by the police pissing on the building of Seimas (parliament of Lithuania). This agency is always trying to dig up some dirt about other agencies and they always come up with a pure nonsense. They tried to defame us as well as Metropolitan. We still have active legal cases with them. I'll post more information about the slander case in 2007 soon. So these facts simply do not create positive image of the agency.

There are even more agencies:

12. Aksmera – it’s been around for quite some time, but it is mostly a local agency.

13. Deima – quite experienced, yet mostly local.

14. Gmodels – new Lithuanian modeling agency, started in 2007 by two well known TV girls Giedre and Goda.

15. amodelica – it’s a new agency and I haven’t got much information about it. Their website is down for some reason. I don’t know if its still active.

16. LTmodels – this agency’s been around for a few years already. I don’t know much about this agency. Sometimes they hire our models.

17. Revanda – local event organizer that has a title of a modeling agency in its name too. It’s an old "agency", but I'm not sure if it’s a modeling agency after all.

18. Exemplum – there is no such agency anymore, as Lithuanian modeling agency "Supermodels" took it over in 2006. Before that these two agencies had been working as partners.

19. Ricis models – some new agency trying to enter the market.

20. glitzmodels – some new agency trying to enter the market. Obviously, hasn’t got a website yet.

21. velvet models – it's not a high fashion agency. It’s Glamour agency. That is, nudity involved.

22. vita lucci – closed agency. Got closed for the same reason as DM – suspected in high class prostitution.

23. Tomana – modeling studio, not an agency.

24. Madesa – mostly local agency.

As you can see, there are so many modeling agencies in Lithuania, so, girls, please choose your agency wisely. Scouts and managers, I hope you’ll find this information useful.

This article will be posted in Lithuanian as well.
