Control Center

Control Center is a rogue anti-spyware program promoted primarily through two methods:  advertisements that pretend to be online anti-malware scanners and Trojans. When certain Trojans are installed on your computer they will display security alerts stating that your computer is infected.  When you click on these alerts, it will download and install Control Center onto your computer. Once running it will scan your computer and display numerous infections or system security threats that can not be removed unless you buy this program. The infections and security threats shown, though, are all fake and are only being displayed to make you think you are infected and thus trick you into purchasing the bogus application. While running, Control Center will also display assorted security alerts on your computer containing fake information about viruses and threats from the Internet. If your computer is infected with this parasite, first of all do not purchase it. Then use a legitimate anti-spyware application to remove Control Center and any related malware. However, if you have already purchase this rogue application, you should contact your credit card company as dispute the charges.
