Press release

Kaunas, Lithuania, June 21st, 2007: modeling agency "DMAX Models" uses scare tactics and unlawful competition methods to discourage Lithuanian models from working for other agencies, particularly modeling agency "Supermodels".

"D-MAX" tried to illegally discredit the competition by publishing a fraudulent article “Nori būti modeliu? Apsaugok save” (Want To Be a Model? Protect Yourself), in which a model and dancer casting advertisement by modeling agency "Supermodels" is shown as an example of illegal and shady marketing by a 21st century scam slavery ring. The article warns young people, who wish to pursue a modeling career, to avoid such agencies as "Supermodels", which is portrayed as a scam agency.

Modeling and casting agency "Supermodels" has been established in 2001 in Kaunas. The agency, together with its partners in the USA, has its own models network and enjoys good relations with some of the world's most reputable modeling agencies in Milan, Tokyo, Barcelona, London, Athens and Paris. Agency's models successfully work in Lithuania as well as in foreign modeling industries.

The owner of Supermodels Ugnius Kiguolis addressed Vilnius City Court with a libel case against "D-MAX Models". During the process of the civic case 2-6416-171/2007 m., it was determined that "D-MAX Models" published a fraudulent article containing unfounded and false claims about "Supermodels", and must remove it from their website and cover court’s expenses immediately after the verdict. The verdict is unappealable.

However, "DMAX Models" has not reacted to the libel case in any way and has not removed the article from their website, even in face of a trial verdict. Such disrespect of Lithuanian legal system leads to assume that "DMAX Models" does not abide Lithuanian law, and that it may in fact be a scam agency itself.

More cases of civil action against DMAX Models for spreading unfounded and false information about Lithuanian modeling agencies are soon to follow.

  1. D-Max Models - slanders Fashion TV and Lithuanian model agencies Says: […] D-Max models - Lithuanian model agency is the agency you need to think before starting to work with. They lost Defamatory case to model agency "Supermodels" and still writes articles which can harm reputation of agencies. Now they wrote new article in their site exonline.lt. Article tells that participation in FTV (reputable TV channel - Fashion TV) events is BAD THING, and only one agency ("Supermodels" they treat this agency as bad one) agreed to participate in Fashion TV cruise where they organise miss FTV contest. We translate this article to English language and sent it to Fashion TV headquarters. What they will do with them we are not sure, but as International event manager for FTV said - they will never work with such company in any way anymore. Article misleads readers, because not only one agency works with FTV. Only The best agencies in Lithuania sends the girls to participate in Miss FTV event and it seems DMAX is not one of them. Girls from modeling agency "Modilinos" and "Supermodels" now participate in the contest. Soon everybody will be able to see the girls from Supermodels and Modilinos on Fashion TV. Think before choosing the right agency to work with. […]
